WDB Experiences Great Attendance at the 2026 Central County Career & Resource Fair!

The 2026 Central Contra Costa Career & Resource Fair took place on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at the Mt. Diablo Adult Education / Loma Vista Adult Center in Concord. The event was a tremendous success, attracting a large number of job seekers, employers, and community partners from across the region.

Turnout was strong, with 317 job seekers eager to advance their careers. A diverse group of 47 exhibitors, comprising 29 employers and 18 resource providers, offered attendees direct access to more than 400 open positions and various support services.

Participating employers—including the City of Concord Human Resources Department, Bio‑Rad Laboratories, Solano County Human Resources Department, the U.S. Postal Service, Mt. Diablo Unified School District, and East Bay MUD—expressed high satisfaction with both turnout and candidate quality. Many mentioned that they were pleased to meet qualified job seekers and were interested in attending future job fairs hosted by the Workforce Development Board.

The event featured insights from key regional workforce advocates, beginning with opening remarks from Mt. Diablo Adult Education / Loma Vista Adult Center Principal Eric Wood, WDBCCC Executive Director Tamia Brown, and Contra Costa County District 5 Supervisor Shanelle Scales-Preston.

In her remarks, Supervisor Scales-Preston introduced her District 5 Office and recognized District 4 Supervisor Ken Carlson, underscoring their shared commitment to representing Concord and advancing local economic stability. She commended the participating business partners for choosing Concord as a destination to source top-tier talent, celebrated Mt. Diablo Adult Education and its East Bay Works Career Center for decades of community impact, and highlighted the vast potential of Central Contra Costa County’s skilled workforce.
