WDBCCC Co-Hosts Successful 2026 West County Career & Resource Fair!

The Workforce Development Board of Contra Costa County (WDBCCC), in partnership with the Bay Front Chamber of Commerce, co-hosted and sponsored the 2026 West Contra Costa Career & Resource Fair on February 18, 2026. Held at the Hercules Community Center, the event brought together employers, community partners, and local job seekers from across the county.

The event brought together 246 job seekers and community members, creating a lively environment for networking and career exploration. In total, 40 exhibitors participated, including 32 employers and 8 community resource providers, offering a wide range of job opportunities and supportive services. Participating employers included the City of Hercules, Contra Costa County EHSD–Personnel Division, East Bay MUD, Bio-Rad, C&H Sugar/ASR Group, Delta Diablo, and Contra Costa Health Services. Many employers shared that they were pleased to connect with qualified job seekers who held the credentials and experience needed for open roles, thereby demonstrating the fair’s success.

Some of the participating resource providers included Contra Costa County EHSD-Navigators, Opportunity Junction, Rubicon Programs, and the Community Housing Development Corporation.

Attendees heard from several community and workforce leaders, who highlighted the importance of connecting local talent with career opportunities, strengthening workforce pathways (particularly for youth and young adults), and supporting the continued economic growth of West Contra Costa County. Speakers included WDBCCC Business Services Representative Charles Brown III, Bay Front Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Sylvia Villa Serrano, City of Hercules Mayor Chris Kelley, and Armando Carrasco, District Representative for Contra Costa County District V Supervisor Shanelle Scales-Preston.

WDBCCC Adult and Dislocated Worker Program Manager Verneda “Vee” Clapp also recognized the Bay Front Chamber of Commerce for its partnership in co-hosting the event and thanked the sponsors and exhibitors for their support. She reminded employers that WDBCCC serves as a trusted workforce partner, providing no-cost services to help businesses recruit and connect with qualified candidates, noting that these resources reflect “your tax dollars going to work for you.”

WDBCCC and the Bay Front Chamber of Commerce extend their sincere appreciation to the event sponsors who helped make the fair possible: City of Hercules, City of Pinole, Phillips 66, Republic Services, and Travis Federal Credit Union.
