In-School Youth (Supporting Student Success)
For youth who are still in school, but need help in reaching their goals, Workforce Investment Act (WIA) services can be key. Starting at age 16, youth who meet our eligibility requirements (low income plus one additional barrier), and who are still attending school, may get assistance from a career coach who can help set goals and offer support, guidance, and the belief in self that can be the difference between defeat and success. The goal of this program is high school graduation/completion, with additional goals of work experience and other activities that help youth realize their potential.
Services are offered in local high schools and in the community throughout the county.
