The WDB has three standing committees that focus on specific aspects of it work, as well as an Executive Committee comprised of the WDB officers, committee chairs, and a couple of “at-large” members.
This committee provides leadership and development of the Board. It comprises the officers of the Board and the co-chairs of each committee. Its mandate includes periodic review of budget and expenditures, legislative and economic updates, and ensuring the on-time and on-target work supporting the Board’s Strategic Plan.
This committee focuses on how to best engage business and support local and regional economic development. It focuses heavily on sectoral approaches that will determine workforce need in the business sector and drive investment decisions of the Board.
This committee is charged with oversight and accountability for the myriad of direct services provided and funded through the Board. Utilizing a dashboard, this committee reviews data and makes recommendation for any policy changes related to program delivery.
This is the only committee specifically designated by the Workforce Investment Act and includes members of the Board as well as nonvoting members. The work of this committee is to give input regarding policy and program direction to the Board related to workforce programs that serve youth and young adults between 14-21 years old and to provide close oversight over those programs and outcomes.
